Fire Commissioners are elected to their positions and serve on a voluntary basis. The Board of Fire Commissioners acts as the civilian oversight for the fire district, managing the budget, purchasing equipment, setting policies, overseeing training and ensuring overall fire protection services meet community needs, bridging the gap between the public, government and the fire department’s operations.
