Adopt A Hydrant
Do you have a fire hydrant outside your home or place of business?
If so, we ask that you partner with your neighbors to keep the area around the fire hydrant clear by 3 feet on all sides. That means shoveling snow in the winter and clearing weeds and brush during other seasons.

In the event of a fire emergency, precious time is lost if firefighters need to take extra steps to locate or clear out a hydrant. Your assistance can help our firefighters serve you better and save precious time in an emergency.
Please consider clearing snow, weeds and brush from a fire hydrant for your neighbors who may have medical conditions or disabilities, or those who are elderly and may be unable to do so themselves. This act of kindness will benefit the entire neighborhood.
For doing this, you will receive a hydrant adoption certificate along with our sincere thanks. Citizens and civic groups (Boy Scouts, etc.) can “adopt” a hydrant or hydrants in their neighborhood.
Thank you for your partnership!
